Cauliflower Steaks with Red Pepper Romesco Sauce & Crispy Breadcrumbs
My wife and I hosted her parents this past weekend, and I was jonesing to make a new recipe while they were here. I had recently received the book The Vegetable Butcher from some friends for Christmas, and was eager to dive in and make some of the recipes. So after a bit of perusing through the book, I landed on this recipe for Cauliflower Steaks, and decided it was a winner for first recipe to make from the book. I had previously seen recipes for cauliflower steaks, but had never actually made them yet, so this was a perfect chance to do so. The end result was nothing short of phenemonal — a recipe I’m sure to make again.
Mocha Chip Larabar
I love making homemade granola and energy bars, and recently found a recipe for a Mocha Chip Larabar on the One Green Planet website. The recipe is ridiculously easy to make, is vegetarian- and vegan-friendly, and is a great source of raw energy. If you’re in the mood for a high-quality, sweet snack, look no further. But be warned: These bars are wildly addicting!
Chocolate Peanut Butter Six-Ingredient Granola Bars
I’m a huge fan of homemade granola and granola bars. Well this is far and away one of my favorite granola bar recipes that I’ve come across. It’s simple and easy, contains only 6 ingredients, and can be made to suit vegan diets. And unlike many store-bought granola bars, you have complete control over the ingredients, so you can be sure everything is natural and healthy. Depending on how long you bake these bars and whether you use honey or agave, the end result may not be as chewy as the Chewy Fruit & Nut Granola Bars, but it’s delicious and addicting nonetheless.
Homemade Granola
I’m a big fan of granola. But I find that many of the store-bought options are lacking in one way or another, such as being bland, containing ingredients I don’t care for, or containing unhealthy preservatives. Luckily, I found a wonderful recipe on the Mother Nature Network website, which after a couple very minor modifications, is now my go-to recipe for Homemade Granola. It’s really easy to make, and provides a great option for a natural, healthy snack.
